Jeff Kile’s 40th Birthday Fundraiser for LifePath
Jeffrey Kile, Senior Account Executive with The Glatfelter Agency, is turning 40 on Aug. 28th and he’s using it as an opportunity to challenge himself to run 40 miles and raise $4,000 for LifePath Christian Ministries.
Jeff Kile believes that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is essential to personal growth and having fun adventures. Over the years he has signed up for Obstacle Course Races before even being a runner and he signed up for his first triathlon before he owned a road bicycle or even knew how to swim. Now it’s time to do it again, but this time the goal is service above self with a focus of shining a spotlight on LifePath Christian Ministries and raising some money for them.
The big 4-0: With his 40th birthday approaching, Jeff wanted to push himself again. This time, he’ll be running 40 miles to raise $4,000 for LifePath Christian Ministries. It’s the longest distance he’s ever run.
“I’ve known the work of LifePath for a long time, and I respect their mission and align with their faith values,” he says. “There are many references in Scripture to the number 40 — Goliath taunted Israel for 40 days before David defeated him, Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and nights before the tempter came to him, The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years, 40 days from Christ’s resurrection to his ascension, just to name a few — So why not get out of my comfort zone and go run 40 miles on my 40th birthday for a good cause?”
The challenge: Jeff will be running four laps around the lake at Gifford Pinchot State Park to reach his goal. He welcomes anyone that wants to join him to come and run as little or as much as they want to, but also hopes his network and the York community support him in raising funds for LifePath.
“My own life has been transformed by Christ, and I see the power of that in others through LifePath,” he says. “I’m up for the challenge and hope to see an impact in other’s lives.”
