LifePath Christian Ministries – NPP Project Presentation

Founded in 1962 as York Rescue Mission, LifePath Christian Ministries (LifePath) has a long-standing commitment to serving individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness throughout York County. Since rebranding in 2016, LifePath has deepened its focus on life transformation—providing coordinated pathways from homelessness to stability for more than 4,500 individuals each year.

LifePath currently operates emergency shelter services for single men and women, along with its Arches to Wellness program at 363–367 West Market Street in York. Family shelter services continue at a separate campus. The organization serves individuals with complex needs, including veterans, individuals in recovery, seniors, and those transitioning from incarceration. As the largest low-barrier shelter provider in York County, LifePath ensures broad access while prioritizing housing outcomes and treating every individual with dignity, respect, and compassion.

This meeting will present a proposal for Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP) funding to support the relocation and buildout of a new, consolidated shelter facility serving single adults and the Arches to Wellness program. While the majority of construction funding has already been secured, the requested NPP funds will equip and activate key program areas for intake, case management, behavioral health, and employment services.

The proposed facility is intentionally designed to enhance dignity—offering safe, welcoming, and private spaces that replace current crowded, public-facing environments. This improved design will allow individuals to engage in services with greater respect and privacy.

Aligned with local revitalization priorities, this project will strengthen service coordination, accelerate housing placements, and improve stability outcomes—creating a purpose-built environment that affirms the worth and dignity of every individual served.
