“LifePath is a blessing from God . . .” —Eric

Thank you for filling hearts with hope!

Eric has faced significant challenges that fueled depression and sent him down some difficult roads in life.

“I’ve dealt with addiction, mental health, and injustices in my life,” he says.

But God had a plan for Eric . . .

A trespassing charge landed Eric in jail and kept him there for 17 long months. But he used the time wisely. “I read the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. It took me three months because I read it really slowly so I could get more out of it. But once you read the Bible, it’s life-changing. For me, anyway.”

When he was finally released from prison, he turned to the one place he’d heard offered safe refuge and help in rebuilding what’s broken in someone’s life . . .

“I was released from jail, and LifePath was nice enough to take me in,” he says. He knew LifePath was a Christ-centered Mission, which encouraged him because Eric has a strong faith in Jesus Christ.

“When you put God in the equation, everything gets better,” Eric says, speaking of the loving people and Christian atmosphere he found at LifePath. “That makes a big difference. It really does.”

Eric is deeply thankful for the many resources available to him at the Mission. “We have shelter. We have clean drinking water. We have clothes they give us. Some Third World countries don’t have these things,” he adds. “It’s a blessing for me to be here.”

In addition to his strong faith, Eric has an extended family who love and care about him. When his legal issues are behind him, he hopes to find meaningful employment at LifePath so he can help others as he has been helped, or he will pursue finding work closer to his relatives.

After facing so many obstacles over the years, Eric now feels he has a firm foundation and the tools he needs for a bright and productive future.

Eric shares his gratitude for all the caring friends and donors who make this ministry possible for neighbors in need: “I’m really grateful for this place,” he says with a smile. “Thank you. You guys change lives.”

Your compassion and generosity help save and change lives like Eric’s. Thank you for giving now to support the critical work of LifePath today and throughout the holiday season ahead!
