“I was homeless and scared . . .” —Michael

This fall, even greater numbers of people in our community will experience hunger and homelessness—many for the first time in their lives. This post is dedicated to YOU because your support of LifePath is providing neighbors in need with meals, help, and hope each day!

Michael worked 40 years at the same job, and though money was sometimes tight, he always had a roof over his head and food in his fridge. Then, he lost vision in one eye. Just like that, he was out of work. It wasn’t long before he was facing homelessness . . .

“I was homeless and scared.” Michael says. “The most important thing was to get off the street, but I didn’t have anywhere else to go.”

Terrified at the thought of sleeping in an alley, Michael turned to LifePath, hoping and praying they could give him shelter until he could get back on his feet.

“I still remember the first day I came to LifePath. I was thinking, ‘Where can I get a place to stay?’ That was on my mind 24/7. Coming to LifePath was a relief.”

Safe from the streets, Michael found the staff to be compassionate and always willing to go the extra mile to help neighbors in need. Within weeks, Michael was working and saving for the day he could live independently again.

Michael is deeply thankful to donors who give to support LifePath. He says the food is good, and his health is improving in countless ways. He knows that having a place to stay until he has a home of his own is an incredible blessing.

Thank you for your ongoing support that makes it possible for LifePath to reach out to people who are hungry, homeless, jobless, and without hope! Especially now—as COVID-19 has shuttered businesses and crushed so many dreams—your gifts are providing urgently needed food, shelter, and so much more to neighbors with nowhere else to turn.
